Description
“She gives us…”
This show takes a unique take on the familiar tale of a tree giving back humanity as we continue to take and take – but what if there was nothing left to take?
Trees are vital. As the biggest plants on the planet, they give us oxygen, store carbon, stabilize the soil and give life to the world’s wildlife. They also provide us with the materials for tools and shelter. Trees benefit health and the environment. They reduce wind speeds and cool the air. Trees help prevent flooding and soil erosion. Trees boost wildlife, strengthen communities, grow the economy, and protect the future.
There is imagery and narration of concepts that are familiar (apples, food, branches, shelter) that signify human concepts we can all relate to (wealth, community, friendship/companionship).
Take this production to many heights with prop integration to further show your audience the story of what nature gives to us.
“She Gives” was originally commissioned for Central Dauphin HS Percussion Ensemble (Harrisburg, PA) for their KIDA and WGI 2020 season. Please note that due to the indoor 2020 season being cut short a show video was not obtained.
