Description

Primitiv can be interpreted as a day in the life of a tribal society whose culture is vastly different than our own. Highlighted by interesting tonality, odd time signatures, and a tribal undertone through it all, this show doesn’t quite live in the past, present, or the future, and may not even be from our planet. No matter how you choose to interpret or represent this show, the idea was to construct a setting or world where the performers get to stretch their identities beyond their own culture. Through interesting and unique characterization and movement, this show really allows visual creativity to take the forefront.

This show was first commissioned by Bakersfield College in 2018 and was an Independent Open Class Finalist at WGI championships.
