Description
“I remember, I remember,
The house where I was born,
The little window where the sun
Came peeping in at morn” – Thomas Hood
If you are looking for something with tons of vibe, an exciting challenge for your performers, and leaning more on the intellectual and artistic side, look no further. This production revolves around the poem “I Remember, I Remember” by Thomas Hood, and the imagery contained therein. While there are many ways an ambitious design team could represent this nostalgic theme, see the video below for just how we did it.
The set represents a gallery featuring three works of art: a painting, spoken word, and a sculpture. Using these three pieces as motivation for the three movements, each movement is a different artistic expression of our original theme.
Mvt. 1 The Minimalist
Mvt. 2 The Spoken Word
Mvt. 3 The Sculpture – The Message
Note: This show includes an arrangement of “The Chairman Dances” by John Adams. Additional licensing and associated fees will apply but we’ll handle acquiring the licensing for you. Contact us with any questions.
“I Remember, I Remember…” was originally commissioned for Sunny Hills HS (Fullerton, CA) for their 2020 WGI and SCPA Season.
