Me, Myself, and Hyde

“In each of us, two natures are at war: the good and the evil. One of them must conquer.”

This theatrical and immersive story show takes place in London where Dr. Jekyll first meets Mr. Hyde. In this production, their classic story is expertly and clearly brought to life on the field. It will leave your audience gripping their seats while simultaneously giving your students a great musical package they’ll love to work on.

Beginning with a theatrical introduction, a rendition of the Pixies, “Where Is My Mind,” on piano sets up the moment where Mr. Hyde takes over. Hyde lives in our opener as he starts to terrorize London by night. He is carefree, but slowly turns to evil and goes completely mad.

Our ballad takes place the day after as Dr. Jekyll feels guilty for Hyde’s actions. He begins to investigate his past actions with this inquisitive music that features music from BBC’s Sherlock. He begins to feel remorse, but it is too late…

In our percussion feature, Mr. Hyde comes back to terrorize. This leads to the final battle of Jekyll & Hyde. Lots of a lot of back and forth moments between Woodwinds and Brass.

Some musical opportunities include several Woodwind and Brass trade-offs, a woodwind sextet, a brass quartet, and even an option for two marching batteries that represent Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Optional backdrops can portray the city of London by night. Additionally, to represent the change of mind, simple adaptions to the costumes and uniforms could also benefit the theme, but are not necessary.

“Me, Myself, & Hyde” was commissioned for Great Oak High School for their 2018 Marching Band Season.
