Smell the ocean air and hear the sound of seagulls and waves lapping at the side of the ship… Call to the Sea is about a journey across the ocean and the perils involved. Narrowly avoiding disaster during an intense storm, ultimately it ends with finally making it to the destination. This show was written with the beginning level band in mind and originally orchestrated for a smaller band to deliver the most impact and punch when needed. Visually this show can be helped along by starting the band on one side of the field and ending on the other. If possible, a ship prop can be used to help bring this show to life but is not necessary. The soundscape and mood of the music will convey everything the audience needs to be taken out to sea!

This show was first commissioned by Pacifica High School for fall 2018 and took first place in Division 2A at CSBC Championships in Southern California.
