Description
“The journey to Nirvana is not a linear process.”
Preparation
Create a suitable environment for the practice. Find a quiet and comfortable place where one can sit or stand without being disturbed. Set the intention for the practice, and focus on a particular goal or objective.
Concentration
Focus the mind on a single point of attention. Through breath, a mantra, a sound, or an image. Maintain a steady and unwavering focus on the chosen point of attention without getting distracted by other thoughts or sensations.
Meditation
Become still and quiet while remaining aware and alert through mindfulness meditation, transcendental meditation, or loving-kindness meditation. As a result, cultivate inner peace, clarity, and insight.
Nirvana
Experience a state of transcendence or liberation from the cycle of suffering. The goal is to reach a state of pure consciousness, bliss, and oneness with the universe. Achieving Nirvana is a culmination of the spiritual journey and is considered the highest level of enlightenment.
“Mantra: The Path to Nirvana” was originally commissioned for Great Oak HS (Temecula, CA) for their 2017 season.
