Description

The Great Oak Tree in Temecula, also known as the “Wi’aasal” by the Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians, is considered a sacred site and symbol of cultural heritage. Its significance and story are inspiring.

The majesty and grandeur of the Great Oak Tree serves as an inspiration for the musical score and visuals. The peaceful and serene nature of the site influenced the overall story of our musical journey; while the visual narrative follows the journey of the Pechanga people and their connection to the land.

Overall, the Great Oak Tree in Temecula serves as a vehicle to be worshipped, adored, used as a sanctuary, and be thankful for bringing all together in its sacred. place. A cultural landmark for many.

“The Great Oak” was originally commissioned for Great Oak HS (Temecula, CA) for their 2013 season.
