Description

This show asks “Are we alone in the universe?” The inspiration of this production came from 90’s “Unsolved Mysteries” type shows where a question was posed and subsequently explored throughout the program.

There are many visual opportunities with Umbrellas, Satellites, Lights, Radio Towers, etc. The main through line of this show is sending a radio message out into the great expanse to see if the message ever gets received and sent back. Soundscape includes radio bits, theremin, and full orchestral soaring melodies that harken back to your favorite Sci-Fi classics.

“The Great Unknown” was originally commissioned for Great Oak High School (Temecula, CA) for the winter of 2019 and was a Bronze Medalists at SCPA Open Class.
